The donation of Rs. 01 mn extended by the Embassy Seva Vanitha Unit to the Foreign Ministry Mother Unit has been duly acknowledged by Madam Savitri Peiris, Chairperson of the Foreign Ministry Seva Vanitha Unit.
In a letter dated 04 November 2010 addressed to the Chairperson of the Embassy Seva Vanitha Unit, Madam Peiris has acknowledged the donation with a word of appreciation to the members of the Embassy Seva Vanitha Unit.

I acknowledge with thanks the bank draft to the amount of SLRs 01 million received from the Seva Vanitha Unit of the Embassy of Kuwait.
The money will be deposited in the Ministry Seva Vanitha Account to be used for purposes outlined by the Embassy Seva Vanitha Unit. A report on the use of funds will be sent once a specific project is identified by the Ministry Seva Vanitha Unit.

Embassy Seva Vanitha Unit in Kuwait donates Rs. 01 million toward needy children
On behalf of the members of the Sri Lankan Embassy Seva Vanitha Unit I take pleasure in handing over a bank draft for Rs. 01 million as a donation out of funds raised by the Unit for the benefit of needy children in Sri Lanka.
As you may be aware the members of the Seva Vanitha Unit during the last 1½ years have undertaken large number of activities to promote Sri Lanka’s image and interests in Kuwait which have been much appreciated by those who supported us with generous donations and their valued presence. Part of the funds raised have already been utilized for the children, women and the needy.
On behalf of the members of the unit, I also wish to convey my appreciation to the members of the Foreign Ministry Seva Vanitha Unit, Sri Lankan community and well-wishers in Kuwait for their commitment and support in our worthy endeavours. I humbly request that this donation of Rs. 01 million be spent for the welfare and well-being of destitute children to undergo emergency treatments and in similar predicaments.
I shall be thankful to receive an acknowledgement from the Ministry Seva Vanitha Unit and a brief update on the manner in which the funds have been utilized to bring relief to the needy children.
I wish to extend my best wishes to the members of the Ministry Seva Vanitha Unit in all future endeavours.
