Embassy Seva Vanitha Unit in Kuwait donates Rs. 01 million  toward needy children

On behalf of the members of the Sri Lankan Embassy Seva Vanitha Unit I take pleasure in handing over a bank draft for Rs. 01 million as a donation out of funds raised by the Unit for the benefit of needy children in Sri Lanka.

As you may be aware the members of the Seva Vanitha Unit during the last 1½ years have undertaken large number of activities to promote Sri Lanka’s image and interests in Kuwait which have been much appreciated by those who supported us with generous donations and their valued presence.  Part of the funds raised have already been utilized for the children, women and the needy.

On behalf of the members of the unit, I also wish to convey my appreciation to the members of the Foreign Ministry Seva Vanitha Unit, Sri Lankan community and well-wishers in Kuwait for their commitment and support in our worthy endeavours.  I humbly request that this donation of Rs. 01 million be spent  for the welfare and well-being of destitute children to undergo emergency treatments and in similar predicaments.

I shall be thankful to receive an acknowledgement from the Ministry Seva Vanitha Unit and a brief update on the manner in which the funds have been utilized to bring relief to the needy children.

I wish to extend my best wishes to the members of the Ministry Seva Vanitha Unit in all future endeavours.
