Sri Lanka Embassy Staff in Kuwait donate their day's salary for the welfare of Ranaviru Families and |

The staff members of the Sri Lanka Embassy in Kuwait have made a voluntary contribution of their day’s salary towards the benefit and welfare of the Ranaviru families and the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Sri Lanka. This donation was extended by the 38 - member Embassy staff in response to an appeal by the government from the Sri Lankan diaspora and well-wishers a broad seeking humanitarian assistance for the internally displaced persons and other needy people in Sri Lanka.
On an earlier occasion the Embassy has contributed Rs. 100,000/- to the Foreign Ministry Seva Vanitha Unit to provide relief to the IDPs in Sri Lanka, out of the funds raised from the cultural show (“Sural Nada”) organized by the Seva Vanitha Unit in aid of “Api Venuven Api Ranaviru Housing Scheme” held in Kuwait on 3rd April. Furthermore, the Embassy, together with the Sri Lanka Cultural Association made a contribution of Rs. 3 million in aid of Ranaviru families out of funds raised from the “Ranaviru Pranama” Musical Show held in Kuwait on 7th February as part of the 61st Anniversary Independencneedy people in Sri Lanka. The Embassy has convened a meeting on 29th May to discuss furthere Day Celebrations.
The Embassy has also made an urgent appeal to the Sri Lankan Diaspora and well-wishers in Kuwait to donate humanitarian relief and funds for arrangements and coordinate matters in this regard with the Sri Lankan Community in Kuwait.
