Sri Lanka’s Ambassador to Kuwait Sarath Dissanayake (who is concurrently accredited to Bahrain) while on duty attending to the official programme for the State Visit of the Bahraini Prime Minister to  Sri Lanka from 28 – 30 July in Colombo, called on President His Excellency Mahinda Rajapaksa and submitted an investment proposal by a Kuwait company to setup a tourism resort in  Sri Lanka.  

On this occasion he also took opportunity to visit the Ministry of Defence to hand over donations worth over Rs. 1.2 million extended by the  Sri Lankan community in Kuwait to the “Ranaviru” Fund.
