CALLING FOR BIDS FOR THE DISPOSAL OF MACHINERY, MACHINERY PARTS AND SCRAP METAL AT FORMER THULHIRIYA TEXTILE MILLS PREMISES, THULHIRIYA

The Chairman, Cabinet Appointed Tender Board invites sealed quotations from the local and international bidders for the “Disposal of Machinery, Machinery Parts & Scrap Metal” at former Thulhiriya Textile Mills premises at Thulhiriya. Most of these machinery are in good condition, used by former Kabool Lanka Textile Manufacturers. The selected bidder/s are expected to remove all the Machinery, Machinery Parts and Scrap Metal in each location within a given period.

Bidding Document could be obtained from the Executive Director (Engineering Approvals & Special Projects Dept) of Board of Investment of Sri Lanka (BOI), Level 19 – West Tower, World Trade Center, Echelon Square, Colombo 1, Sri Lanka (Tel: 0094-11-2346343, 0094-11- 2427105) until 14th July 2010 (during working days from 0900 hrs to 1600 hrs) after making a non-refundable payment of Rs.5,000 + VAT to the BOI.

The international bidders are requested to submit the Bidding Document through a reputed local agent.

Sealed bids may be sent by post under registered cover or may be personally deposited in the Tender Box available for this purpose at Engineering Approvals & Special Projects Dept of BOI, Level 19 – West Tower, World Trade Center, Echelon Square, Colombo 1, Sri Lanka. Bids shall be submitted in two separate envelopes, duly marked as “original” and “duplicate”. Also the title of Bid should be clearly written on the top left hand corner of the envelope. All bids should be accompanied by a Bid Security Bond as specified in the Bid Document.

Bids will be received till 1000 hrs on 14th July 2010 (during working days from 0900 hrs to 1600 hrs) and will be opened immediately after the closing of bids. Bidder/s or their authorized representative/s will be permitted to be present at the time of opening of Bids. Late biddings will not be accepted under any circumstances. Interested parties can inspect the items after making prior appointment from the Executive Director (Engineering Approvals & Special Projects) of BOI, over the period from 14th June 2010 – 18th June 2010.

Pre Bid meeting will be held on 18th June 2010 at 1000 hrs at BOI office at MAS Fabric Park (Pvt) Ltd, Kurunegala Road, Thulhiriya
