A team from the Sri Lanka Embassy participated in the “Embassies Cup Foot Ball Championship” for Diplomatic Missions in Kuwait organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait at the Qadsia Club recently.

The championship was the first of its kind in Kuwait hosting 26 teams from various Embassies in Kuwait.  Sri Lanka Embassy was the only team that took part in this tournament of the SAARC countries represented in Kuwait. Many diplomats expressed their appreciation of the initiative taken by the Foreign Ministry of Kuwait. 

Sri Lanka played against Bahraini team at the preliminary stage, but did not qualified for the semi finals.
