Bahraini Premier, His Royal Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Salman Al-Khalifa has gifted a consignment of 20 MT of dates for distribution among the Muslims in Sri Lanka observing fasting during the Holy Month of Ramadan.  The donation was in response to a request by Hon. M.H.M. Fowzie, Minister of Disaster Management, who is also the Minister in Charge of Muslim Religious Affairs.

It is recalled that the Bahraini Premier who was on a state visit to Sri Lanka in July 2009 gifted 20 MT of dates to Sri Lanka upon his return to Bahrain in August 2009 on a similar request.  The donation by the Bahraini Primer is a reflection of the goodwill and generosity of the Government and people of Bahrain toward friendly people of Sri Lanka and a further manifestation of the excellent relations between the two countries.
